If landscape is environment then it is ultimately a habitat, altered or created by the beings, which live in it or use it. Therefore to answer what is landscape I have to look at the sociological influences in the landscape where I live. If landscape is created by people, then the study should be people and the result landscape. Architecture is in essence a vessel used by people and designed to suit goals and lifestyles. It should therefore be an integrated part of any study based around culture.
