BORDERS
There are different kinds of borders in our environment.
These borders can be of physical nature or signify "cultural" borders.
Often these borders are visualized by signs, encodings, architecture.
Borders signify a start/stop point or a trespassing point, where something/someone is in transit.
Globalization has changed the urban and rural landscape.
Especially interesting to me are city borders in a wider sense, like industrial areas.
This "border" is no real border, it is more an area in "transit",
the area between a city and the country, the so called "Zwischenstadt".

"gaps are spaces of individual transit, they often go unnoticed, and they build a new unfocused landscape."
